Every tax is a pay cut.  Every tax cut is a pay raise.
Citizens for Limited Taxation

The school committee is an elected body that should be balancing the needs of our voracious public schools and the Framingham taxpayer.  It seems to be acting as a rubber stamp on behalf of Christopher Martes, without any concern or empathy for any Framingham taxpayers.

The chairman of the committee is Diane M. Troop.

Former chairman of the school committee, Phil Dinsky, seems oblivious of anyone who is not a parent with children in the school system.  On behalf of the "other taxpayers", Phil, please take us under consideration in your next meeting.  Some of us do not have any strong desire to pay for schools.

After attending only one school committee meeting (10/15/2002), I immediately became aware as to why:
  • school costs have gone up by 56% in only seven years, and
  • parents created the charter school that is not under the auspices of the School Committee.
Hey, if you think I'm cynical, go attend one yourself. The proof is in the pudding (Er! committee).

There's no question in my mind that the school committee has become a victim of group think.

Phil Dinsky has been on the School Committee since 1992 and has set up his own little rules on his school committee.

The school committee deludes itself with their little inside joke about the "millions at home, watching us". They also struck me to kind of self-congratulatory in nature. The first 30-45 minutes of any meeting to hand out little awards.

Sadly, Framingham schools have the lowest SAT scores in the metrowest area.
