Warning , Will Robinson, Warning

This is a big money election. The taxpayers of Framingham are faced with over $400 million in unfunded liabilities to our public sector unions, the largest one being the Framingham Teachers union.

You can bet your little booties that the unions and the rabid PTOs who are flush with cash will pressure the Board of Selectman to place an override on the ballot.

It used to be that Framingham only had one large invisible elephant in its living room, and it was called illegal immigration. We now have a second one, the huge unfunded $400 million in liabilities to our public sector unions. The incumbents won't discuss either of these topics, and for good reason. Both occurred on their watch.

If the Board of Selectman vote to place an override on the ballot, I will fight them until Hell freezes over, then, I'll fight them on the ice fields and glaciers. .

How about you!

General rule of thumb at the polls:

Throw out the incumbents.

Throw in the newcomers.

  • At last count, we had 68,000 residents and 8,400 students.

  • The average cost of educating one child for one year in the Framingham schools is now over $16,000.

  • The student/teacher ratio in Framingham is 11.5 to 1.

  • The General Fund has been monotonically increasing over the past 15 years and now rakes in about $210 million each year.

  • The Enterprise Fund is monotonically increasing and stands around $30 million annually.

  • Nothing but gloom and doom in the Long Range Financial Forecast .

Next, some definitions, from the Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Beirce,

Idiot, n.:
A member of a large and powerful tribe whose influence in human affairs has always been dominant and controlling.

Aborigines, n.
Persons of little worth found cumbering the soil of a newly discovered country. They soon cease to cumber; they fertilize.

Ambidextrous, adj.
Able to pick with equal skill a right-hand pocket or a left.

It seems that Framingham has a disproportionate number of idiots due to its large social service industry and a huge population of illegals (mostly Brazilians).

Jim Rizoli, Selectman

A life long resident of Framingham who mourns the death of downtown Framingham and its continuing demise due the the influx of illegals (mostly Brazilians) who are allowed to set up camp by the powers that be. You can bet that if Precinct 1 looked like Precinct 17, there would be tremendous change.

He wants to really improve downtown instead of constantly applying lipstick to a pig. He would be amazingly persistent in doing so without any overrides.

And remember, Jim Rizoli DID NOT bring you that $400 million in liabilities .

Give him your vote.

Nick Sanchez, Selectman

Once a scrawny Cuban kid who came into the US in a legal boatlift, he made a good life for himself and perhaps a better one for his two daughters. He has a PhD in Economics and recently retired as a professor of Economics at Holy Cross College. You never know what knowledge would bring to the Board of Selectman. It hasn't been tried yet.

He will decline any override requests and bring his economic know how to the Board of Selectman.

Caveat Emptor: The U.S. government has plenty of economists.

Nick Sanchez DID NOT bring you the $400 million in liabilities .

Give him your vote.

Dennis Giombetti, Selectman

His signs say: A Proven Leader.

I say: Bullshit.

Three years ago, Giombetti stated that Framingham was deteriorating. It's still deteriorating. In the last three years, two citizens have been killed by the police and downtown is still in shambles.

We were told the immigrants (illegals) would revitalize downtown. Bullshit.
We were told the Danforth Museum would revitalize downtown. Bullshit.
We were told libraries would revitalize downtown. Bullshit.

The town is now spending $7.5 million in cleaning up downtown (Lipstick on a pig).

Every single year of his proven leadership started with a deficit.

Every single year of his proven leadership has ended with a 2.5% increase in your taxes.

However, his dynamic leadership has now led us into a $400 million liability trap. You'd have to be an idiot to vote for him.

Every time you talk to Giombetti, you will be tempted to take a shower to clean off the verbal slime he left behind.

Dennis Giombetti DID bring you the $400 million in liabilities .

Send him packing for home unless you are an idiot, an intellectual midget or minimally exceptional.

Laurie Lee, Selectwoman

Laurie Lee is a mother of four and wants more money for schools. Given that it costs $16,000 a year to educate one child for one year in Framingham, she consumes far more in taxes ($64,000+) than she pays ($6,000).

Saying that you want excellent schools is like saying Do it for the children. A common battle cry of the Framingham Teachers Union (a.k.a Association).

She claimed to have addressed our ballooning health care costs. So what did she say about the $400 million in liabilities? Not a word!

It takes hard work and perseverance from Laurie Lee to turn a vision into the reality or nightmare of a $400 million liability for taxpayers.

She turned absolutely mute when a Framingham police officer murdered an innocent man.

She babbles about a prudent fiscal policy but presents us with a $400 million liability. Thanks for your prudence, Laurie.

Laurie Lee wants more of your money. Period! She is an ambidextrous liberal at heart.

She's too arrogant and never answered my questions. You'd have to be an idiot to vote for her.

Laurie Lee DID bring you the $400 million in liabilities .

Send her packing for home unless you are an idiot, an intellectual midget or minimally exceptional.

Eric Kline Silverman, Selectman

Eric Kline Silverman is a cultural anthropologist.... whatever that is. It seems he chose a set of college courses that seemed easy and might get him a namby-pamby degree. I still think that being a Jewish anthropologist seems really odd but not as odd as a Jewish geologist or a Muslim Catholic..

His real web site http://www.eksilverman.com/ drips with religion. When you speak of circumcision as being a covenant with God, you know you are Jewish, and I know that religion of any kind is a big lie . None are so blind as those who keep their eyes wide shut.

Eric has studied aborigines. Perhaps a useful topic for downtown Framingham but certainly not useful in handling Framingham finances.

Keeping his wide eyes shut on our $400 million liability is also one of Eric's strong point. Since he started, it's clear that all he wants is more money for the schools with the same vengeance that Bob Edwards wants us all to wear helmets, Jim Rizoli wants us to deal with illegal immigration and I want a Proposition 2 1/2 underride.

He should be running for a school committee slot.

His only objective on the Board of Selectman is to place an override on the ballot.

The current average cost of educating one child for one year is $16,000, and our current student/teacher ratio is 11.5 to 1, but Eric wants to spend more.

Eric Silverman simply wants more money from you, and in large quantities. He is also an ambidextrous liberal in the extreme.

He claims to have A New Vision For Framingham.
His new vision is the old, and tired vision, more monies to the school unions.

Send him packing for home unless you are an idiot, an intellectual midget or minimally exceptional.

Each and every year, our school committee starts off by telling us that it has a deficit. Every year without fail. Standard probability would indicate that we should occasionally get a surplus, but the laws of statistical probability do not apply in Framingham.

They are always trolling for more money from the taxpayers.

The rabid school committee as a whole does not understand the phrase:

"living within our means".

In their public speeches, they never mention the word "taxpayer", because frankly, they do not understand what a "taxpayer" is.

Questions posed on the frambors mailing list are being ignored by the incumbents. They claim that the Open Meeting Law prevents them from responding.

Bob Bolles, School Committee

Bob Bolles is by far, the most fiscally conservative of the six contenders for three school committee slots. My gut instinct tells me that his pitbull mentality will throttle the constant overspending by our school committee.

I suspect that it was difficult for him to step up to the plate and run for office but, by golly, he's doing it.

Get this man in there, come hell or highwater unless you like higher taxes!

Steve Hakar, School Committee

Steve is an accountant and he might be able to tell the other school committee about living within their means with our money.

Caveat Emptor: Enron also had accountants.

Heather Connelly, School Committee

I seem to remember she stated that she had a Master's Degree in Education. I'm not sure if that means anything in the context of the annual deficit that the school committee presents us with each and every year.

Michael Bower, School Committee

Michael Bower is running for re-election after helping to bring you a $400 million liability . Feel free to be an idiot and re-elect him.

David Miles, School Committee

David Miles is running for re-election after helping to bring you a $400 million liability . Feel free to be an idiot and re-elect him.

Carol Phalen (Failing), School Committee

Carol Phalen is running for re-election after helping to bring you a $400 million liability . Feel free to be an idiot and re-elect her.

Carol Phalen has four children. At $16,000 apiece per year in our schools, she is a very large consumer of property taxes ($64,000 per year) but only generates approximately $6,000.
