Framingham Taxpayer Protection Pledge

Given that property taxes are rising quickly, it seems appropriate for candidates to elected town offices (and other committees) to sign one of three Framingham Taxpayer Protection Pledge's. The distinction between the three are: will not vote for or support any permanent or temporary Propostion 2 1/2 override will not vote for or support any temporary "Capital" or "Debt Exclusion" Propostion 2 1/2 override will not vote for or support any permanent "Operational" Propostion 2 1/2 override It would seem clear and unambiguous to anyone of reason that any candidate that does not sign one of these pledges does not wish to be shackled in their attempt to raise your taxes. The private sector is 10% unionized. The public sector across the U.S. is 35% unionized.  Here in Massachusetts, and in Framingham, we have the distinction of having 90% of our public sector unionized. Don't believe it? Ask our town manager and the human resources department at the state level. This article entitled No Teacher Left Behind is the primary reason your taxes are going to continue to rise.  Say no to overrides, and keep repeating yourself until your death.
