A graduate for Framingham State and an 18-year member of the Framingham Auxiliary Police, Eugene Scott Penrod will be the district's new Director of Safety and Security.

FRAMINGHAM -- An 18-year member of the Framingham Auxiliary Police is now the school district's first Director of Safety and Security.

Eugene Scott Penrod is a graduate of Framingham State College with over 30 years' experience in the safety and security field with Marriott International. During his 30 years with Marriott, he held many positions including his latest at Director of Loss Prevention at the Boston Marriott Copley. He has also been part of the Framingham Youth Hockey Program Board of Directors for many years as well as a coach for Framingham United Soccer.

"We have been searching for a long time to select the best possible candidate to join our Senior Leadership Team and to focus on the many aspects of emergency response planning and overall safety and security oversight for our school district," said Schools Superintendent Robert Tremblay. "Scott's varied background in this industry coupled with his knowledge of Framingham, his connection to students in our district as a coach, and his strong, established relationships among our community of first-responders, makes him an ideal Director of Safety and Security for the Framingham Public Schools."

In a statement, Scott Penrod said he is eager to get started.

"As a longtime member of this great city, I look forward to bringing my thirty years of experience in the safety/security field to support and enhance the safe environment for all members of the Public School community," said Scott Penrod.

In the new role, Scott Penrod will respond to emergency calls throughout the district, perform district-wide patrols to detect safety risks, and develop and implement plans for responding to emergencies. He will also assist in conducting investigations and preparing reports of criminal and conduct code violations, including Title IX reports.

The position comes with a salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 based on experience and qualifications.

FRAMINGHAM - Framingham Superintendent Robert Tremblay, Superintendent of Schools announced today, November 8, Eugene Scott Penrod has been hired as the first Director of Safety and Security for the public school district.

The Director of Safety and Security's primary goal is to provide a safe, secure, disruptive-free learning environment for all who attend Framingham Public Schools.

The primary role of the Director of Safety and Security is to support students and staff with any safety-related issues, concerns, or problems, from providing directions to performing mediations.

The position has a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000.

Penrod is a graduate of Framingham State College with more than 30 years' experience in the Safety and Security Field with Marriott International. He has held many positions within his 30 years with Marriott including his latest as Director of Loss Prevention at the Boston Marriott Copley.

He has been a member of the Framingham Auxiliary Police for the last 18 years working closely with all aspects of public safety.

Penrod has been part of the Framingham Youth Hockey Program Board of Directors for many years and well as a coach for Framingham United Soccer.

He resides in Framingham with his wife Jayne and his children Jake and Caitlyn.
