Every tax is a pay cut.  Every tax cut is a pay raise.
Citizens for Limited Taxation

Periodic Recap of Town Activities.

The town has spent $600,000 on our downtown park which cannot be used in the winter time, because its walkways are not plowed.

The twenty three (23) church lots are being plowed even if the churches don't pay taxes.

Condominiums do pay taxes but do not get garbage collection because that would be too much of a burden on the Department of Public Works

Twenty seven (27) town employees still utilize a town owned car to commute to and from work.

The town is trying to charge us a fee for garbage collection even though we pay taxes for that. The town line is that the fee is not a revenue generator.

The 2004 budget legal expense has jumped to $550,000 as more organizations take the town to court over its misguided policies.

It seems absurd that we subsidize a town museum, and an ice skating rink.  Both are losing propositions.  Shouldn't we get into something profitable, like beer or cigarettes.
