Every tax is a pay cut.  Every tax cut is a pay raise.
Citizens for Limited Taxation

From an article in the Boston Globe, written by Jenn Abelson on November 7, 2002.
The Framingham Public Library Trustees are attempting to auction off some belongings (valued at around $15,000) of Wallace Nutting that have been trapped in their basement for thirty years.  The Board of Selectman voted to stop the auction.  John M. Kahn said "It's an outrage what they're doing.  I don't think we ought to be selling our heritage for a mess of pottage".

The library is hurting for money so they decide to sell off some stuff locked in their basement vault for thirty years and John M. Kahn wants to block it.  Less than a year ago, John M. Kahn had no problem voting to place a Proposition 2 1/2 override on the ballot and increase our taxes by $275 a year for the rest of our lives, but he's outraged when the library sells something locked up in their vault for 30 years.  Talk about the packrat syndrone (at our expense).

This man's priorities are way out of wack.  His new battlecry is:

Tax the citizens. Save our junk.

Next time you see him on the streets, tell him what you think of your taxes.
