Box 2884 Framingham, MA 01703 Attn: FPAC Board of Directors 508-875-5434 info@fpac.tv Dear sir/madam, I've just recently become a member of FPAC and noticed that the front page of FPAC (http://www.fpac.tv/) states that FPAC has received a record number of complaints. I would like to request a copy of all the complaints filed against any and all FPAC shows in this calendar year, 2010. I am quite willing to pay any associated copying costs I would like to better understand who's complaining about what, because I generally find FPAC material to be hideously boring nonsense. Being an ardent and petty bureaucrat who looks for humor in governmental operations, I expect to find some hilarity in this research. I've learned from the experience of the very popular show "Married with Children" that complaints will invariably point me to the quality shows. This complaint will be sent by email and by snailmail. If you have any questions, you may feel free to contact me at hjw2001@gmail.com or 508-877-5541 Sincerely yours, Harold J. Wolfe |
Who is FPAC |
65 Delmar Avenue Framingham, MA 01701 May 10, 2010 hjw2001@gmail.com 508-877-5541 Framingham Public Access Corporation P.O. Box 2884 Framingham, MA 01703 Attn: FPAC Board of Directors 508-875-5434 info@fpac.tv Dear sir/madam, FPAC's Member Policies and Procedures (dated 03/2010) explicitly states in Section 2.2 that: When content is not prohibited by laws but is found by FPAC to be indecent, profane, or otherwise patently offensive to community standards, and not appropriate for cablecasting during times of day when children are most likely to be viewing, FPAC will respond by presenting such programming on an appropriate schedule. The questions I would like answered are: 1. In the phrase "but is found by FPAC"... who speaks for FPAC? Would that be - its Executive Director - its President - the FPAC Board of Directors - the entirety of FPAC membership - the voters in Framingham 2. Is programming against religion indecent or patently offensive to community standards? 3. Are community standards defined and documented? If so, can I get a copy? 4. Is the judgement call purely subjective? I eagerly await your response. Sincerely yours, Harold J. Wolfe |
Reasonable Determination |
65 Delmar Avenue Framingham, MA 01701 May 10 2010 hjw2001@gmail.com 508-877-5541 Framingham Public Access Corporation P.O. Box 2884 Framingham, MA 01703 Attn: FPAC Board of Directors 508-875-5434 info@fpac.tv Dear sir/madam, FPAC's Member Policies and Procedures (dated 03/2010) explicitly states in Section 2.1.4 that: Programming that does not have the necessary licenses, consents, releases or other required authorizations for its use as presented to FPAC. The foregoing applies to but is not limited, to programming that, according to a reasonable determination by FPAC, does not have required licenses, consents, releases or authorizations from copyright holders and owners of other intellectual property rights; parents or guardians of children; persons from whom image, performance, location or other consents, releases or authorizations are required; consents as needed to prevent unlawful invasion of the privacy of members and other persons; or consents as needed to otherwise prevent the unlawful or wrongful misappropriation of the image, likeness or other legally protected interest of any person Questions: In the above paragraph, in the sentence fragment "according to a reasonable determination by FPAC" who speaks for FPAC? Would that be - its Executive Director - its President - the FPAC Board of Directors - the entirety of FPAC membership - the voters in Framingham What is "reasonable determination"? 1. Is that "a belief", "a gut feeling" or "an exercise in stupidity"? 2. Is the "reasonable determination" documented and available to the public as a whole, since we fund the bill. 3. Is the "reasonable determination" kept a secret because FPAC knows better than the public? I eagerly await your response. Sincerely yours, Harold J. Wolfe |
Religious Fraud |
65 Delmar Avenue Framingham, MA 01701 May 10, 2010 hjw2001@gmail.com 508-877-5541 Framingham Public Access Corporation P.O. Box 2884 Framingham, MA 01703 Attn: FPAC Board of Directors 508-875-5434 info@fpac.tv Dear sir/madam, FPAC's Member Policies and Procedures (dated 03/2010) explicitly states that FPAC shows should not have any materials which are intended to defraud the viewer (see Section 2.1.3). "Any material which is intended to defraud the viewer or is designed to obtain money by false or fraudulent pretenses, representations or promises." The basic tenets of Judeo-Christian and Islamic religions promote a God, creator of the Heavens and the Earth, and that you have an after life after your death on earth. The many FPAC shows on religion talk about God, the Lord, and all of us going to heaven or hell in our after lives. These priests, pastors, rabbis are actively telling us that evolution is false. They are evolution deniers and they promote evolution denial. Does FPAC's Board of Director's believe in evolution? In fact, does FPAC's Board of Directors believe that the earth revolves around the sun? By sponsoring these many religious shows, is FPAC telling me in no uncertain terms that these religions are not fraud and God actually exists and we do have an afterlife? Is this really true? I have been searching for 60 years and have yet to find a scintilla of hard evidence of this, and I was wondering if FPAC's Board of Directors could provide me with that scintilla of evidence to give religion an iota of credibility. If FPAC's Board of Directors fails to provide such evidence, then I would like the justification that FPAC's Board of Directors uses to determine that religion is not fraudulent? Otherwise, you should remove all shows about charlatans committing this religious fraud. The other course of action is to eliminate Section 2.1.3 in your next re-write of Policies and Procedures which I would expect will be real soon. I eagerly await your response. Sincerely yours, Harold J. Wolfe |
Response to my inquires from Gwendolyn Holbrow |
65 Delmar Avenue Framingham, MA 01701 May 18, 2010 hjw2001@gmail.com 508-877-5541 Framingham Public Access Corporation P.O. Box 2884 Framingham, MA 01703 Attn: FPAC Board of Directors 508-875-5434 info@fpac.tv Dear sir/madam, Included is my original inquiry about religious programming on FPAC. Your response was that FPAC did not sponsor religious programming. Regretably, that was the response to a question I did not ask. Read the following carfefully. FPAC's Member Policies and Procedures (dated 03/2010) explicitly states that FPAC shows should not have any materials which are intended to defraud the viewer (see Section 2.1.3). "Any material which is intended to defraud the viewer or is designed to obtain money by false or fraudulent pretenses, representations or promises." The basic question I have for the FPAC Board of Directors is: Is religion fraud? The only possible responses are: Yes, religion is fraud. If so, all religious shows should be removed. No, religion is not fraud. If so, what evidence does the FPAC Board of Directors have to show that religion is not fraud? I am looking for a small scintilla of evidence on the veracity of religion. Perhaps, you could give me some evidence. I ask these question because your Member Policies and Procedures manual does not allow ANY material which is intended to defraud the viewer. If you remove this paragraph in your manual, then I withdraw my inquiry/complaint. If you have any questions, you may feel free to contact me at hjw2001@gmail.com or 508-877-5541 Sincerely yours, Harold J. Wolfe - |
