Every tax is a pay cut. Every tax cut is a pay raise.

This is another example of how government metastasizes and grows uncontrollably. First, they sell lottery tickets and that causes trash. Next, the government gouges the taxpayers more to solve the problem they created. |

LOTTERY ANTI-LITTER PROGRAM (H 4850)
House 131-22, Senate 32-5, overrode Gov. Romney's veto of the entire $100,000
in funding to establish, implement and promote a lottery anti-litter program
to limit the number of discarded instant tickets that become litter.
The funding section also allows the Lottery to develop regional environmental
awareness events to limit the ticket litter.
Override supporters said that this program would help clean up the environment by discouraging people from littering stores and sidewalks with losing scratch tickets. They noted that some 50 million non-winning instant tickets were recycled as a result of the Lottery's Clean Fun Sweepstakes that allowed players to submit $10 in non-winning scratch tickets for an opportunity to win up to $100,000 in prizes. In his veto message, Romney said he vetoed the funding because it is not consistent with his original fiscal 2005 budget recommendation. (A "Yea" vote is for the $100,000. A "Nay" vote is against the $100,000). |
